Non-Invasive Treatments

Many people associate chiropractic care with spinal or chiropractic adjustments for pain. While pain treatment, rather than pain management, is certainly a long-established and crucial component of chiropractic care, the field of natural and holistic medicine offers chiropractors and their patients many choices for non-invasive treatments that go beyond simple chiropractic adjustments. At Laser Spine and Pain Institute in The Woodlands, Dr. Shaghaghi provides natural and non-invasive pain treatment.

Deep Tissue Robotic Laser Therapy

Deep tissue robotic laser therapy uses focused light to help damaged tissue repair using the body's natural response to photochemical stimuli. The healing power of light can be used to eliminate pain and inflammation to restore the body to its normal healthy functions. Most patients experience some pain relief after only a few sessions, and some of our patients tell us they find relief after the first session. Laser therapy has been scientifically validated as a safe and effective alternative to conventional medical treatments involving painkillers or surgery.

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal decompression therapy is designed to reduce back pain by stretching the spine through gentle traction. The spinal column consists of an alternating series of vertebrae, made of bone, and discs, made of softer cartilage. The cartilage discs are designed to cushion the vertebrae and prevent them from making direct contact with each other.

When your spine gets out of alignment, the discs can become compressed or pinched, and slide out of alignment. The spinal cord and discs can become inflamed and send out pain signals to the rest of the body. If left untreated, the result can be debilitating back, shoulder, neck, or leg pain, depending on the affected region.

By decompressing or reducing the pressure in the spine, the slipped or pinched discs can resume their normal place and shape. This will reduce the pain signals and encourage the normal circulation of blood, oxygen, and spinal fluids so that your back can begin to heal naturally.

Chiropractic Neuropathy Treatment

Chiropractic neuropathy treatment is designed to treat many forms of peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy can cause burning or tingling sensations in the arms and legs, spasms, and poor range of motion in the arms and legs. Besides laser therapy and decompression, neuropathy treatment can include massages, hot or cold treatments, and therapeutic ultrasound which is designed to treat the affected tissues with sound waves. Like other chiropractic methods, neuropathy treatments are scientifically validated and designed to be non-invasive and a safe alternative to surgery or addictive painkillers.

Spinal Nerves Can Cause Neuropathy

Your brain sends messages to the rest of your body via nerves extending from the brainstem. These nerves then travel down the spinal cord and then out to your different limbs and organs. If these nerves become damaged or disrupted, it can cause you to feel neuropathy symptoms. This means that your spinal health can have a direct effect on your neuropathy condition.
